The Minister of People's Power for Electric Energy, Rolando Alcalá, announced that two of the four groups of generations that were affected by the earthquakes of last June 24 have been recovered at the Termocarabobo plant.

In an interview with a national television channel, he stressed that “in the next few days we would be recovering the third one, which would add up to 450 megawatts of the 600 that we lost at the time of the double earthquake,” he said.

In addition, he reported that recovery work is continuing on the transmission towers of the Planta Centro-Yaracuy line, as well as on the Termocarabobo thermoelectric plant. He specified that these works will make it possible to restore the operational capacity of the facilities and contribute to the stability of the National Electricity System (SEN).

“We are still working on the recovery of the transmission towers of the Planta Centro - Yaracuy transmission line, we are still working on the transformers of the two remaining generation groups that have yet to be incorporated into the Termocarabobo plant and at the same time we are working on generation six plant of Planta Centro, which is a 600 megawatt team and we are working to incorporate it into the SEN in the coming months,” he said.
