The Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado, assured this Friday, February 21, the need to integrate the Communal Power into the National Constitution, in the context of the next constitutional reform, suggested by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
In a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión, he said that “the commune must go to the Constitution of Venezuela”, which will allow the Public Powers to be rapidly deployed in the popular base.
“Where the People are definitely a government, we celebrate it, and we are a lot of people who are willing to assume powers, manage resources, take care of the peace of our communities, take care of the territorial integrity of our nation,” he said.
He mentioned a list of issues such as education, public services and health as priorities for each community council. “The world is seeing the political model being built in Venezuela, where not only resources are socialized but also political decisions,” he said.
He added that “the inhabitants of a community become owners of those resources that are going to be invested, because it is the problem that is solved for everyone.”
Prado highlighted that he received very positive information from mayors and governors during his issuance of funding for the National Popular Consultation held on February 2nd.
“In the fields, they are really being materialized,” he said of the projects, and emphasized that “the Venezuelan people agree on the need to transform the State that we have.”
The minister urged us to continue “definitely setting our model in order to guarantee higher levels of participation in our people”.
