The Minister of Hydrocarbons, Paula Henao, specified that the National Executive encourages the development of the gas industry, given the importance of this resource both for domestic and industrial use, as well as for the diversification of the national economy.

“In Venezuela we have experience developing gas with different licenses, since it is a business model that is protected by gas law, which has been very successful,” said the Minister during an interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

He stressed that a very successful example is the project that is being carried out in the west of the country with transnational companies, the development of Campo Perla, “another gas giant”.

“We are promoting what is the development of the entire issue of the Gulf of Paria and with that development towards the Delta platform where we also have huge gas reserves,” he said.

Henao explained that gas can be associated with oil, or you can have free gas reserves, as is the case of Offshore, that is, a dry gas is produced that is not necessarily linked to oil production.

He asserted that the new Hydrocarbons Law encourages and promotes investment in Venezuela. “In recent weeks, different firms have been signed, agreements have been finalized and in the coming days more will come,” he added.
