More than 20,000 tons of food at fair prices will be distributed this weekend nationwide, through different government programs aimed at the protection of the Venezuelan people.

In this regard, the Minister of Food, Carlos Leal, assured that these programs have not had any interruptions.

“Every day we are going for more, especially supported by a very important logistics system that allows up to 35 thousand tons of food to be distributed on a weekend. This is something very important that our people must know!

In addition, he highlighted the popular organization “which allows distribution to be done in a very orderly, very methodical way; because our people definitely have that great capacity”.

With regard to the MERCAL establishments, he indicated that to date there are 1,999 and the established goal is more than 4,000, “who must be rehabilitated and placed at the service of our people in their different communities.”
