The Minister of Popular Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Julio León Heredia, reported that 2025 closed with a 111% increase in cocoa exports compared to 2024.

“We are fulfilling the mandate of President Nicolás Maduro: Production, Supply and Export. That is the axis that guides all our efforts,” said León Heredia.

Heredia indicated that 2026 began at a rapid pace, reaching 14 exports since the beginning of the year. He recalled that, since 2025, cooperation has continued with the Russian company New Cocoa Production, with which 8 shipments have been made, totaling 1,000 metric tons. “This alliance allows us to project a tripling of volumes this year,” he said.

The minister stressed that the containers are still leaving for the Russian Federation, within the framework of the collaboration between the Russian company and the Venezuelan Cocoa Corporation, under the Ministry. “Venezuela produces cocoa recognized in the world, and our producers have expanded the cultivation area to sustain this growth,” he said.

He also announced that preparations are underway for the reopening of the processing factories in Rio Caribe and Yaguaraparo, in the state of Sucre, together with the Mango de Ocoita processing plant, in Miranda. “These infrastructures will strengthen the processing capacity and the quality of the product we ship to the international market,” he said.
