This Wednesday, May 21, the sectoral vice-president of Defense and Sovereignty, Vladimir Padrino López, reported that more than 412,000 officials of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) will be deployed in more than 15,000 electoral centers to protect the peace of the population throughout the territory.

He also reaffirmed the importance of this election, since it is the People's opportunity to elect governors, deputies to the National Assembly (AN) and legislators of the Legislative Council, who are in direct contact with the popular base. In turn, he said that Sunday's electoral process is also relevant because for the first time governor and deputies will be elected to Guyana Esequiba.

He reaffirmed that Operation Republic is “a great planning, logistical process, with great empathy between the FANB and the CNE (National Electoral Council), because we have been refining the levels of coordination (...) It is a great operation of days, months and weeks and has been successfully executed to the present and we do it lovingly because we contribute to the strengthening of democracy that will be represented by the exercise of the vote this May 25.”

At the same time, he called on the People to exercise their vote with conscience, recalling how in previous years opposition sectors have used spaces such as the AN to call for sanctions and aggressions against the country.

He reaffirmed that State security agencies are also responsible for safeguarding all electoral material . “Protection of the People, guarantee of security, protection and custody of electoral infrastructure, protection and custody of electoral material, that is the great task that we have before us,” he said.

“The people of Venezuela can be sure to take to the streets to their voting centers to exercise their political right to vote with complete security because it is guaranteed by the popular-military-police union,” he said.

In addition, he emphasized that this May 25, Venezuela will once again set a great example for all countries. “Our democracy has experienced a process of evolution, improvement and growth of democratic authenticity, an example for the entire world,” he said.
