Minister Villegas announced that World Poetry Festival 2025 will come to Guiana Essequiba

The Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, announced this Wednesday that he will convene a meeting with the authorities of the state of Guayana Esequiba, for the territorialization of the Missions and Great Missions in the entity, where he also announced that as part of the more than 100 activities that will take place at the 19th edition of the World Poetry Festival 2025, a poetry recital will be held.

Villegas highlighted that in 20 states of the country, including Guiana Essequiba, workshops, recitals, talks, book presentations in libraries, high schools, theaters, historic houses, and Southern Bookstores will be held. “The sun and poetry are born in the Essequibo,” he said.

He indicated, at a press conference, that one of the initiatives is the updating from the communal level of the registration of Venezuelan cultural heritage, which will begin in the state of Guayana Esequiba.

The 19th edition of the World Poetry Festival 2025 will be held from July 14 to 20, in homage to the poet Belén Ojeda, under the motto “Place of Stay”, and will feature the participation of more than 40 poets from four continents: America, Africa, Asia and Europe and 200 national poets deployed in various activities across the country.
