The Ministry of Popular Power for
Culture (MPPC) awarded awards to 397
workers who have 15, 20 and 30 years of service in this body and its affiliated
entities, in connection with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the portfolio.
During the event that took place at the Casa
del Artista, in Caracas, the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto
Villegas, recognized the work of the staff who have worked both in the MPPC and
in entities that existed before the creation of the governing body.
“I have found a clue: to lift absurd
distances between us; when we meet together and together for the same
objective, we are stronger and more efficient,” he said, highlighting the learning they
obtain every day in the exercise of their responsibilities to the
institution.
He also stressed that “without the contribution of
those who were there before, we had not been able to successfully overcome the battles
we had to face, nor could we even consider the possibility of taking
new battles in victory”.
In addition, he thanked Commander Hugo Chávez
for the creation of the institution two decades ago and highlighted the work of the
President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, as successor to the Bolivarian Project.
“While
Ministries of Culture are closing in other countries, missions are being created in Venezuela to make
these dreams a reality,” he stressed.
The celebration was enlivened by the presentation of José David “The Child of a Thousand Capabilities”, who performed the songs “Volaré” and “Granada”, showing off his vocal ability to emulate the sound of the flute. In addition, those present appreciated the talented group “Sowing Traditions”, which offered a varied repertoire of native musical genres.
