The Minister of Popular Power for Tourism (MINTUR) Leticia Gómez Hernández said that this has been a month of good news for tourism in Venezuela. He specified that this is a period of significant achievements and good news that consolidate the country's tourist reactivation.
The user of the ministerial portfolio on social networks stated that “with an open door policy and the strategic vision of the National Government, the country is positioned as an attractive and safe destination for international tourism (...) In a milestone that demonstrates the growing confidence in our tourism potential, we have witnessed the arrival of tourist delegations from different parts of the world, including the welcome of visitors from Japan and Russia,” the communication added.
The reactivation of the charter operation between Moscow and Porlamar, managed by the tour operators Pegas Touristik and the Venezuelan Hovertours, marks a turning point in our air connectivity. This first flight, which carried 456 passengers, represents the return of a frequency of three monthly flights that are projected to attract more than 15,800 visitors a year, the publication highlights.
He added that “not only are we welcoming our friends from Japan and Russia, but we are also supporting the reactivation of flights that will boost our economy and show the wealth of our country to the whole world. This tourist drive will not be limited to paradisiacal Margarita Island,” he stressed. Gómez Hernández announced that “these new tourist flows will expand to other key destinations, such as: Tucacas, Puerto Cabello, Caracas and Canaima”.
