Under the organization of the Ministry of Popular Power of Fisheries and Aquaculture (MINPESCA), the country's first Network of Young Fishermen and Aquaculturists was created in the state of Anzoátegui
Jesús Tarazona, national leader of the Fishing and Aquaculture Youth, stressed that the objective is to aim at strengthening fishing youth as a generational force with a cultural identity and Bolivarian values.
“At the national level, elections have been held for spokespersons, with approximately 400 spokespersons being selected throughout the country. The state of Anzoátegui has the largest number, for a total of 80 spokespersons,” he explained.
He stressed that with the Pesca Tu Plastico program, it seeks to involve fishing youth in the collection of plastic waste, which affects marine and continental ecosystems, promoting environmental conservation and the sustainability of fisheries.
He added that MINPESCA focuses on the integral development of young fishermen and aquaculturists, offering educational opportunities, medical care and support for ventures in the fishing sector and related activities.
