Miranda's public institutions unify efforts to strengthen regional economic apparatus

In order to strengthen the Venezuelan economy, on instructions from the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, through the first Great Transformation, the public institutions of the Miranda state shared experiences and unified criteria to promote, strengthen and consolidate the regional economic apparatus.

The activity, published by the Government of Miranda on its website, indicates that it was organized by the Secretariat of Productive Economy of this governmental body and that it took place at the facilities of the Superintendency of Banks (SUDEBAN), where different personalities and actors from the national and state economic sectors, as well as entrepreneurs, producers and merchants from Miranda, met.

The governor of the state of Miranda, Elio Serrano, thanked the attendance at the meeting, which “serves to coordinate and articulate efforts to strengthen the economic development of the Miranda state.”

Serrano highlighted that the Mirandina region has a plurality and productive wealth due to its diverse climates. He recalled that the Barloventeña region with almost 390,000 inhabitants produces musaceae (bananas and cambures) as well as cocoa.

“It is important to rule out that, in the 2024-2025 harvest, we provided 7500 tons of cocoa, out of the 25,000 produced nationally. This category already has a Protected Geographic Indicator (PGI), which is the certification that guarantees product quality,” he explained,

He announced the creation of the Mirandino Observatory for Economic Transformation, an instance that will make it possible to quantify and monitor the entity's economic growth.

He also emphasized the importance of constant and direct support to the productive projects prioritized and chosen in the Popular Consultation.

For her part, the president of the Country Brand and Deputy Minister of Export Promotion, Daniella Cabello, welcomed the initiative to bring together the actors responsible for the economic activation of the region.

“Public institutions must design strategies to promote what is ours,” he said.

He announced that at the next international exhibition to be held in Shanghai, China, the Country Brand will have a stand to show the export benefits of Miranda Productiva.

“The Plan of the 7 Transformations is our guide and that is why we must focus our lines of work to position Miranda as a vanguard in economic transformation,” he said.

Regarding the export issue, he pointed out that it is one of the ways that facilitate the entry of foreign exchange into the country; in addition to allowing the promotion of products with Venezuelan and Mirandino stamps.

Cabello made available to the Government of Miranda, the Country Brand, in order to create the identity and brand of the region in which all institutions must work together.

During the activity, it became known that the Mirandina region accounts for 20% of exporting companies and leads the National Registry “Entrepreneur Together” with 168 thousand 36 projects registered to date.

In this regard, the legislator for the state of Miranda, Yosmary Guevara, explained that 64% of these projects are led by women, which means the leading participation of the female sector in state economic leverage.

“These projects generate at least two direct jobs, representing 300,000 jobs in the region,” he said.

She also highlighted that the Single Authority for Women and First Combatant in the region, Eddith Pulido, has implemented public policies to promote and empower women entrepreneurs and businesswomen from Miranda.
