More than 70 social organizations are carrying out a day of protests in rejection of the National Government's adjustment policies, which eliminated the “Return to Work” program.
The day of struggle confirms the will of the Argentine people to resist an economic model that prioritizes fiscal adjustment over the life and dignity of the most vulnerable workers in the region.
The day of protests is taking place in various parts of Argentina, with the main demand focused on the removal of the former “Empower Work”, now called “Return to Work (VAT)”.
The marches are replicated in other parts of the province of Buenos Aires such as Mar del Plata, Bahía Blanca, San Nicolás, Pergamino and Rosario. They also extend to the provinces of Santa Cruz, Rio Negro, Formosa, San Juan, Misiones, Córdoba, Mendoza, Salta, Santiago del Estero, Chaco, Entre Ríos, Corrientes, Jujuy, Tucumán, Catamarca, Tierra del Fuego, Neuquén, Chubut and San Luis, evidencing a widespread rejection of government policies affecting the most vulnerable population.
Among the organizations mobilized is the Union of Workers of the Popular Economy (UTEP). Members of this movement made road cuts, in rejection of the elimination of the supplementary social wage of 78,000 pesos by the Government of Javier Milei, which directly affects 900,000 workers in the popular economy.
UTEP points out that the Milei Administration not only definances the most vulnerable sectors, but also expelled more than 300,000 people from formal employment, who are now exerting pressure on a popular economy without a containment network.
