Monagas communes boost economy with exchange of Peasant Fairs

In the state of Monagas, the Community Exchange of the Network of Peasant Fairs is being developed, an initiative that takes place at the Collection and Distribution Center and brings together 18 communes in the region to consolidate a direct productive circuit between the countryside and consumer families.
This project guarantees access to fresh and quality products, by eliminating intermediaries in traditional distribution chains. Thanks to a previous market study and statistical analysis carried out in municipal spaces, the network establishes solidarity prices that benefit the community and energize exchange between communes, strengthening the planning and sustainability of the productive system.
This effort is integrated with policies aimed at strengthening food security, promoting territorial production and consolidating an economic model based on cooperation and Popular Power, to reaffirm the commitment of the communes to the well-being of Monaguense families.
“Boosting the work of producers and consolidating self-management is the key to a sovereign communal economy,” highlights part of the publication.
