More than 17,000 people in a civic-military-police union deployed in Táchira due to the activation of the ODDI

In San Cristóbal, Táchira state, the Management Bodies for Integral Defense (ODDI) were activated as part of Plan Independence 200 to guarantee peace and territorial defense of the country.
In the border entity, more than 17,000 officials were deployed in a civic-military-police union, who will also protect public spaces, communities and service structures. “We secure all international border crossings and bridges and we are carrying out patrols,” emphasized Michelle Valladares, Commander of the Integral Defense Operational Zone (ZODI) No. 21 in Táchira.
He asserted that in compliance with the guidelines of the constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, all forces and means were deployed throughout the Tachire territory.
In the same way, he affirmed that strategic objectives were protected, secured and taken, as well as the necessary actions against a possible air campaign and systematic attrition to avoid the paralysis of the state.
“Articulated Popular Power, Public Security Organizations, Bolivarian National Armed Forces, we will carry out the 27 territorial tasks,” he said.
He also announced that the state of Táchira was partially closed and the city of San Cristóbal was secured in order to guarantee order. “All the means of internal order were deconcentrated, to guarantee the protection and peace of all the people,” he added.
