More than 20 thousand people participated in a training day on climate change

The Bolivarian Government continues with training sessions, in order to analyze the challenges faced by humanity in the face of the consequences of climate change, and to address the importance of early response and meteorological monitoring as key tools for the prevention and protection of communities.

In this regard, the sectoral vice-president of Planning, Ricardo Menéndez, stressed that, in the face of the El Niño phenomenon, the most decisive element is community awareness, built on the basis of risk maps and Concrete Agendas for Action (ACA).

He noted that this approach allows communities themselves to diagnose levels of affectation and define measures to address climate impacts.

For his part, the Minister of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, Nelson Rodríguez, explained that key indicators were established related to the increase in temperature, rainfall and the monitoring of reservoirs, in addition to the recommendations promoted by the ministry and by the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.

In addition, the president of the Venezuelan School of Planning, Ricardo Molina, pointed out that the crises resulting from climate change are linked to the prevailing political socio-economic model, focused on the production of goods and services without considering human well-being or environmental balance.

He indicated that confronting the climate crisis requires concrete actions that transform the relationship between human beings and nature.

The authorities reported that factors associated with climate change will be affected at least until mid-2027, so the National Executive is already developing preventive plans and recommendations to serve the Venezuelan population.

The El Niño phenomenon has generated a two-degree increase in temperatures in the country, reinforcing the need to strengthen prevention, monitoring and climate awareness throughout the country.
