During the months of March and April, the Francisco J. Duarte Astronomy and Applied Technologies Research Center Foundation (CIDATA) has served more than 2,300 people through an intense agenda of scientific dissemination in the state of Mérida.
The fundamental purpose of these activities is to awaken early vocations and encourage critical thinking in children and young people, integrating them in an interactive way into the fascinating world of knowledge under the Massification Plan of the National Scientific Semilleros Program.
The deployment, according to a press release, has reached several educational institutions in the municipalities of Libertador, Campo Elías and Santos Marquina, including the Ramón Reinoso Núñez School, Ramón Ignacio Guerra and the Los Angeles Special Educational Institute.
The president of CIDATA, Nomar Villa Pineda, emphasized that these days seek to capture future Venezuelan scientists through practical experiences that transform learning into a meaningful experience.
To achieve this objective, the team of experts uses pedagogical tools that include interactive talks about the solar system, demonstrations of optical technologies, rocket launches and safe astronomical observation using special telescopes and lenses.
These dynamics, which also integrate the use of theater, allow students to approach science in a recreational way, facilitating the understanding of complex concepts through play and direct experimentation.
