This Sunday afternoon, a shipment of 250,000 doses of pentavalent vaccines arrived at Maiquetía International Airport, which will help to continue strengthening the country's Expanded Immunization Program (PAI), in cooperation with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
According to a press release from the Ministry of Health, these doses are crucial for the prevention of five serious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, Haemophilus influenzae type b pneumonia and Hepatitis B.
The receipt of this shipment ensures greater autonomy in the management of the vaccination schedule for the years 2026 and 2027, ensuring the continuous protection of children and vulnerable populations.
It should be noted that these endowments are part of a biomedical agenda that ensures the availability of immunization in all communities in the national territory.
It is worth mentioning that in recent days a large number of doses of vaccines have arrived in the country, as part of the large national inventory in which it is expected to receive more than 8 million doses in order to strengthen the Mass Immunization Plan.
