More than 40,000 people were shot dead in the United States in 2025

According to the latest report from the Gun Violence Archive, the United States (USA) closed 2025 with more than 40,000 people being shot.

In the report, there were 14,615 fatal shootings and 26,195 non-fatal shootings throughout the year, revealing an alarming pattern of armed violence that has affected all sectors of the population for years.

The victims include 685 children and 3,759 adolescents. More than a thousand young people between the ages of 12 and 17 were killed, while some 2,700 were injured.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 24,000 people committed suicide with firearms.
