More than 90 arrested and five injured in Greece after anti-government protests over train accident

This Thursday, at least five people were injured and more than 90 arrested, after Greek police suppressed a crowd of demonstrators gathered around the Parliament in Athens, who accuse the Government of being responsible for the railway accident that occurred on February 28, 2023

According to local media, more than 13,000 demonstrators gathered in the vicinity of the Legislature, who demanded justice for the deadly train accident, which occurred in the town of Tempe, where 57 people lost their lives.

Likewise, local media have summarized that the demonstrators were greeted by police brutality and with tear gas.

In Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city, there were anti-government protests and a total of 59 people were arrested.
