More than 940 tourists visited Margarita Island in the last week (+Receptive Tourism Plan)

Receptive tourism increases with the arrival of foreign visitors

From February 17 to 23, a total of 946 tourists arrived at G/J Santiago Mariño International Airport, located on Margarita Island, in the state of Nueva Esparta.

On different charter flights, 113 passengers arrived from Trinidad and Tobago, 224 from Cuba and 709 visitors from Poland, for a total of 946 travelers during this period, according to a press release from the Ministry of People's Power for Tourism (MINTUR).

This commercial initiative, promoted by MINTUR, has so far totaled 29,324 from Cuba, 20,703 from Poland and 11,394 visitors from Trinidad and Tobago.

As part of the strategic plan designed by the National Government to promote inbound tourism, the Minister of Tourism, Leticia Gómez Hernández, received businessmen and marketing specialists from Qatar, accompanied by the Venezuelan ambassador to the Asian country, Carlos Mata Figueroa, with the objective of establishing strategies that position the country as an international destination.

These professionals will visit different destinations in the country, with a first stop at the iconic Margarita Island, and then visit Catatumbo, Canaima, Los Roques, Mérida, among others.
