At a press conference, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported this Wednesday that the Public Ministry has charged more than 21,000 people with cases of corruption during his administration.

“We have managed to charge 21 thousand 095 people and we have filed 8 thousand 720 accusations” in the fight against corruption, explained William Saab from the headquarters of the Public Prosecutor's Office.

In addition, with regard to the protection of human rights, “we have so far managed to charge 2,262 people linked to regrettable human rights violations, for which 983 have been deprived of their liberty and we have obtained 543 people convicted,” he said.

“This sustained effort has achieved something extremely incredible in the Western Hemisphere, which is the notable decrease in complaints of human rights violations in our country to a figure close to 40%, for some reason, because there is justice against impunity then the complaints,” he emphasized.
