MP initiated an investigation to determine those responsible for the violent actions that occurred in Guayana Esequiba

Through an official statement, the Public Ministry (MP) reported that, in the
exercise of its constitutional and legal powers, it initiated a criminal
investigation in relation to the events that occurred on February 18,
2025 in the territory of the Guyana Esequiba state, in which a
group of people were injured as a result of the action of
security forces of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.
In
the letter, the institution that guarantees the criminal action specified that
“Guyana Essequiba is an integral part of the territory of the
Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Public Ministry has jurisdiction to
hear the punishable acts committed there.”

The Public
Ministry reports that, in the exercise of its
constitutional and legal powers, it has initiated a criminal investigation in
connection with the events that occurred on February 18, 2025 in the territory of the Guyana Esequiba
state, in which a group of people were injured
as a result of the action of security forces of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.
Guyana Esequiba is an integral part of the territory of the
Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Public Ministry has jurisdiction to
hear punishable acts committed there, as provided for in
article 16 of the Organic Law for the Defense of Guyana Essequiba.
For the development of the investigation, 59 prosecutor's offices have been appointed with national
competence in matters against common crimes and 52 national offices with
competence against organized crime.
As part of the criminal investigation, the Public Ministry will interview
a group of people who were injured in the events in question, who are receiving medical attention from the
Venezuelan authorities.
The Venezuelan State, worthy heir to the legacy of the liberators,
remains united and alert under the guidance of the principles of our constitution
in unrestricted defense of national sovereignty.
