MPPC and CENAL open call for 2025 Literature Biennials

The Ministry of Popular Power for Culture (MPPC) and the National Book Center (CENAL) opened the call for Venezuelan and foreign writers residing in the country to the seven National Biennials of Literature 2025.

These contests will award unpublished works in the Short Novel, Children's Narrative, Essay, Chronicle, Poetry and Tenth Children's categories.

These are the VII Rafael Zárraga National Biennial of Literature, short novel mention, open until June 24; the II Carmen Delia Bencomo National Children's and Youth Literature Biennial, children's narrative mention, until July 15; the 9th Félix Armando Núñez National Literature Biennial, essay mention, until July 31; the VII Antonio Crespo Meléndez National Literature Biennial, mention Chronicle, and the XI Ramón Palomares National Literature Biennial, Poetry mention, until August 15; the VII Gustavo Pereira National Literature Biennial, Poetry mention, until September 15, and the VIII Cruz Salmerón Acosta Biennial, tenth children's mention, until September 30.

These National Literature Biennials are held as part of the Bolivarian Government's cultural policies aimed at promoting literary production and encouraging the development of new authors.

The winners will be published by Monte Ávila, a publisher attached to the MPPC, and will receive one hundred and fifty thousand bolivars (Bs 150,000.00) by CENAL.
