The sector vice president of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez, assured that the Bolivarian Government is waiting for representatives of the social network X (owned by Elon Musk) to provide documents about their operations in Venezuela, so that they can continue to operate in the country.

“What is appropriate is for this company, as it does in other countries, to come forward and say: 'this is my board of directors, this is my representative in Venezuela (...) and that person in charge accepts Venezuelan laws and lives with Venezuelan laws and makes legal use of the platform,” said Ñáñez during his participation in the Laiguana.tv program “Here and Now”.

In this regard, he reaffirmed that “we are still waiting for them to take charge”. At the same time, he pointed out that one of the commitments that this social network must assume is to sanction false and misleading information, hate messages, calls to violence, false profiles, among others, that promote criminal activities and hacks.

He said that since President Nicolás Maduro took the initiative to suspend the social network X in the country, an evaluation was carried out on its social impact and assured that “people can live without X”, since it is one of the networks with the lowest consumption and the lowest number of users compared to Instagram or TikTok.
