Venezuelan Natalia Machado won the bronze medal in the female cadet foil category, at the Asunción Pan-American Fencing Championship, in Paraguay.

The Venezuelan beat the Mexican Cruz María Rodríguez on the table of 16 with 15 touches to 6, and in the round of 16 she repeated the feat against fellow Mexican Fernanda Montero.

In the semifinals, Machado defeated American Audrey Yang 15-10 to climb to the third step of the podium, according to the Ministry of Sports press.

In the men's cadet sword category, the shooter Dylan Moreno only managed to advance to the table of 64 where he fell to the representative of Chile, Facundo Mercado, placing him in 24th position in the category.

For their part, in the female cadet sabre weapon, the Venezuelan Emily Torrez and Isabella Guerra faced each other on the board of 32, Torrez advanced to the table of 16 where he fell to the Mexican Jazeli Covarrubias.

Torrez ranked 16th and Isabella 17th in the ranking of this contest, while fencer Ansidey Guilarte ranked 29th after her participation.
