The president of the National Assembly (AN) and head of the Venezuelan Dialogue and Peace, Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, installed this Wednesday the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace International Communities Chapter.
During the meeting, held in Caracas with the participation of representatives from 25 nations, Rodríguez, who also heads the Council Secretariat, stressed that “if something characterizes Venezuela, if something characterizes this land of grace that is our Venezuelan homeland, it is precisely the diversity, the variety that is represented here today in the countries that attended this meeting with the communities that inhabit Venezuela.”
In this regard, he stressed that Venezuela “has always had open arms for the arrival from any point and from anywhere in the world, of anyone who considers the possibility of making this their second Homeland or their main Homeland.”
He recalled that, for more than 100 years, Venezuela has been receiving migrants from all over the world. “Venezuela received millions of people from Europe after the interwar periods and after the Second World War. Venezuela received from what was formerly the Turkish empire hundreds of thousands of people who had been looking for an opportunity in this land. It also received Jews, Muslims, Catholics, Orthodox, Christians, from different religious systems, from different cultural systems,” he said.
