The non-metallic mining engine was activated in the state of Sucre in order to boost the economy of the eastern region, with a view to exporting this sector.
The instance was activated by the governor of the region, Jhoanna Carrillo, who indicated that from now on a technical table will be installed that will bring together non-metallic mining entities that produce sand, clay, gypsum and salt, among others.
Carrillo, as reported by the newspaper Última Noticias, stated that through this instance, actions will also be established to leverage the export of non-metallic mining products, such as limestone, salt, dolomite, sand, asphalt mixture, among others.
He stressed the importance of accessing different international markets, whose action will guarantee them to experience exponential growth in the economy of this region of eastern Venezuela.
“We are talking about a great challenge, which is precisely the export and commercialization of non-metallic minerals for the Sucre state. A development that by the year 2026 will allow us to take on the great challenges, but also to leverage the installation, the modernization of the development of non-metallic mining in municipalities linked to this economic activity,” he said.
He specified that the eastern entity currently has 32 registered mining operators committed to the development of non-metallic mining and, in turn, to fulfilling the Bolivarian economic agenda.
