Approximately 100 merchants who live in the Cumanacoa community in Sucre state will receive credit support from the Workers' Digital Bank in coordination with the Ministry of the People's Power of National Commerce (MPPCN), as part of the plan to recover economic activity in the jurisdiction, after being affected by the passage of hurricane Beryl, in the month of July.

The Minister of the People's Power of National Commerce, Luis Antonio Villegas, accompanied by the sole authority of the territorial entity, Major General, Lockiby Belmontes, toured the area to verify the progress of the “Hugo Chávez, Cumanacoa Renace Project”, through which the Bolivarian Government provides merchants with the necessary support.

He commented that despite the unilateral coercive measures, the people of Cumanacoa have been resilient and are moving forward to overcome adversities and thanks to the policies employed by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, territorial economic activity has been reactivated.

“It's always a pleasure to return to this community to observe its rebirth. Despite the difficulties experienced, they are still standing, as a Bolivarian and revolutionary people.

Cumanacoa is not alone and has the support of the President's commander, Nicolás Maduro, who is committed to fully restoring the commercial and economic area,” he said.

In the town, the inhabitants with the support of the Mayor's Office of Cumanacoa are working on the construction of a retaining wall, called gabion, which will measure approximately 300 meters, and will function as a filtering dam that will prevent possible river overflows.
