The Bolivarian Government presented a new pilot project focused on ensuring the modernization and digital transformation of the National Public Health System, to collect information and statistics on the national hospital infrastructure, services, personnel, and other data of interest, using the system called Health Establishment Certificate.

The presentation day was led by the sector vice-president of Science, Technology, Ecosocialism and Health, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, who commented that it is a “work effort with many of the health professionals from the 26 hospitals that are going to be leading this pilot project that allows us, in some way, to systematize and organize our data on the medical services we have throughout the hospital network”.

He added, according to a MINCYT press release, that these digital transformation processes are fundamental in the face of technological progress in the world.

“As technology accelerates today, we must modernize in some way, accelerate services (...), we have to lift what services we have, under what conditions and what are the realities of our services,” he said.

He explained that, in about six months, with support from the Ministry of People's Power for Planning, a survey will also be carried out for the hospitals participating in the project to systematize and online cadastre of the entire national medical infrastructure, including “organizing centers for service control and patient mobility”.

He also pointed out that this pilot system was built with Free Software, following the guidelines of the Infogobierno Act, which allows for a sovereign policy on the security of data stored in Venezuela.

In this regard, he told those present that “the quality of the data is what allows us to get closer to the truth; and in that truth to respond with a policy. So with this system, we are going to be able to be honest about everything, and that you are responsible for the quality of the data.”

He specified that together with President Nicolás Maduro Moros, these processes are being addressed, which are essential policies to face the impact of thousands of Unilateral Coercive Measures that, in addition to threatening the national economy, were directed from the beginning towards the health system and the well-being of the people.

“We want to have better results because our people deserve it. Because every time we set up a health service and you are in charge, we are guaranteeing peace in our country,” said sector vice-president Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez.

The pilot of the Health Establishment Certificate system is also added to the Digital Medical Record, recently presented during the Obratón led by President Maduro, from the Dr. Carlos Arvelo Military Hospital.
