National Government maintains attention to families affected by the flooding of the Orinoco River in Amazonas

Staff from the National Public Health System carried out a series of follow-up visits and comprehensive health care to families affected by the recent flooding of the Orinoco River and who are taking refuge in temporary shelters in the Atures municipality of Puerto Ayacucho, Amazonas state.
During these visits, according to a press release from the Ministry of Health, comprehensive medical care was provided, including general consultations, rapid diagnostic tests for malaria, immunization, drug delivery, blood pressure monitoring, deworming and abatement, among other services.
Although the level of the Orinoco River has begun to fall, the multidisciplinary team of the National Public Health System (SPNS) remains attentive to the needs of people who are still affected.
