National Government restores traffic at 17 points affected by the double earthquake of 24J

The Minister of People's Power for Transport, Francisco Garcés, reported this Tuesday the significant progress in the country's reconstruction efforts, highlighting the restoration of passability in 17 sectors that were seriously affected after the double earthquake that occurred last June 24.

“As part of the comprehensive deployment of the National Executive, the Vice Presidency of Public Works and Services and the Ministry for Transportation, there has been an immediate response to the possibility of the earthquake we had and everything that our Venezuelan families require,” said Garcés, in statements for a national media outlet.

He also stressed that the nine bridges that were affected have already been rehabilitated and others are being recovered.

The Minister also stressed that it has already been possible to re-establish the country's air connection with international airports. “Work is currently under way to recover the capacity of Simón Bolívar Airport in Maiquetía so that in the coming weeks it will partially serve domestic and international flights,” he said.

He added that the port work carried out from Maiquetía in La Guaira has also been recovering, reinforcing operations from Puerto Cabello.

The holder of the Transportation portfolio emphasized the Bolivarian Government's articulated commitment to respond efficiently to the contingency, prioritizing the safety and free movement of all Venezuelan families.
