This Thursday, during the swearing in of Governor Joana Sánchez in the state of Aragua, President Nicolás Maduro highlighted the strength of conscience and organization that the Venezuelan people have achieved in these years of struggle.

“We are seeing and experiencing the rise of a powerful leadership in Venezuela, an authentically popular collective leadership,” stressed the head of state from the Samán de Güere Monument in the city of Maracay, capital of the Aragüeña entity.

He argued that the forging of this consciousness in the People began “42 years, 5 months and 19 days ago”, this in reference to the date on which Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez swore in this historic monument to restore dignity to the land where the Liberator Simon Bolivar was born.

“Here the oath to rescue the Fatherland was taken and here it is being fulfilled,” he said.
