The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, exalted this Friday that entrepreneurship has been consolidated in the country as an economic engine, which emerged in response to the adversity experienced after the Covid-19 pandemic and which is linked to the strategies that the people have required to face the consequences of unilateral coercive measures (MCU).

During the inauguration of the City of Urban Entrepreneurship “Oscar López Rivera”, a space dedicated to the productive and social economy, located on Paseo Vargas on Avenida Bolívar in Caracas, the National President interacted with entrepreneurs and emphasized the value and genesis of this sector in the country.

Reflecting on the resilience of Venezuelans, he said: “We, in Venezuela, invented one... and it has been going well for us, and every time we are going to do better with family and community entrepreneurship, the communal economy.”

The Head of State recalled the case of Christmas textile production that emerged in December 2020: “Textile ventures emerged. Do you remember? They did the Christmas pajamas and, since we were all in the house, people started putting on pajamas as a family and taking pictures of each other. Do you remember? Oh, I remember, I have a memory.”

Alfonso Mercado, an entrepreneur from the East, who thanked the National Government for its support, had the opportunity to exchange words with the National President: “Grateful to you, President, for giving us decent housing and primarily the local one. We make life right here, we work right here, here is the community that supports us 100%, we are united”.

In view of this, the head of state ratified his management's commitment to this sector: “For a long time I had been insisting that the premises of the Great Venezuela Housing Mission, which were so beautiful and there are so many, should be given to the community for undertakings and we are achieving it step by step.”

With the inauguration of this City, the Bolivarian Government seeks to strengthen the productive base and the communal economy, providing decent and safe spaces for the development of Venezuelan entrepreneurs.
