The deputy of the National Assembly (AN), Nicolás Maduro Guerra, expressed his support for the deputy Delcy Rodríguez as president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, highlighting the historical responsibility she assumes in the defense of the country's sovereignty.

“To you Delcy Heloína, my unconditional support for the hard work you have to do, count on me, count on my family, count on our strength to take the right steps in the face of this responsibility that touches you today, and we are firm in absolute unity to achieve the objectives of peace in Venezuela and to move the country forward and for Nicolás and Cilia to return,” said Maduro Guerra.

Maduro Guerra denounced that President Nicolás Maduro Moros and the first female combatant Cilia Flores were kidnapped and threatened, and stressed that this situation constitutes a serious violation of international law and of the fundamental principles of humanity. He assured that he and his family were also subject to persecution for maintaining a firm position in the defense of Venezuela.

The deputy affirmed that the Venezuelan people have forged an invincible conscience in the face of external aggressions and that national and international mobilization will be essential to achieve the release of the kidnapped leaders. “Thanks to the people, who formed us in the revolutionary struggle, we are sure that the truth will triumph,” he said.

In his speech, Maduro Guerra emphasized that the current battle is not only for Venezuela, but for the defense of international law and the dignity of all peoples. “Today it's Venezuela, tomorrow it could be any nation that doesn't agree to submit,” he warned.

Finally, the deputy reiterated his support for interim president Delcy Rodríguez and called for the absolute unity of patriotic forces to guarantee peace, democracy and the country's sovereignty. “They kidnapped Nicolás and Cilia, but they didn't kidnap the conscience of a people that decided to be free,” he concluded.
