The so-called “independent” media in Latin America are worried that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will no longer be able to finance them.
This is more than 268 million dollars allocated to those media that were blocked by the US government because they belonged to USAID, an organization that was closed by decision of President Donald Trump because, according to the US president, it is a corrupt and fraudulent body.
As published by France 24, USAID funding for “independent journalism” covers more than 30 countries.
The situation shows that these media are not independent, because many have complained about the freezing of these resources without which they would stop working, so it suggests that they depend on the money given to them by the empire.
Why do they call themselves independent media if they need USAID money? The masks fall off when they see that their work is in favor of an agency that was created to plague the peoples of the region and the world with misery.
It also makes it clear that there is no such “free press” that they proclaim so much, because they are slaves to a foreign power.
