Jesuit priest Numa Molina shared a profound reflection on the process of national reconciliation, stressing that the country is going through a favorable time to heal wounds. According to the clergyman, the proposal to exclude hate backed by Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez is having a tangible impact on citizens.

During an interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), he advocated the viability of forgiveness between opposing political sectors. “We are in that real, true and sincere moment; I believe in the sincerity of this process,” he said.

The priest observed with hope how citizens with historically irreconcilable positions have begun to agree in common spaces of dialogue. To deepen this union, Molina offered advice based on faith and civic coexistence, urging the population to focus on the virtues of others instead of their deficiencies. “Let's look for the good things that unite us. On that meeting ground, we must put the best of our heart on the table to overcome polarization,” he said.

He also called for empathy as a fundamental tool for understanding negative attitudes and avoiding conflict, explaining that violence is often the result of past injuries, so he invited Venezuelans to look at each other from their human and historical context. According to his vision, understanding that each individual “is a child of his own history and has been wounded along the way” is the only way to achieve a mutual understanding that will disarm hostility.

Finally, the Jesuit priest reiterated that building lasting peace depends on the ability to recognize the positive in others. For Molina, the path to social stability requires a collective effort to set aside prejudices and strengthen shared values.

With this message, he reinforces the idea that reconciliation is not only a political objective, but an ethical and human imperative for the future of Venezuela.
