This Thursday, the Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz, classified as important not only the results offered by the National Electoral Council (CNE) but the decision through the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).

“The decision of the Supreme Court of Justice is very important, which not only ratifies what the Electoral Power, an independent power, determined, but also resolved the controversy by guaranteeing that voting, suffrage and political participation is a human right,” said the Ombudsman.

In this regard, he valued the role of the Electoral Chamber in evaluating the minutes and the evidence that were presented, since “the decision is the guarantee of peace in Venezuela and respect for human rights.”

On July 31, the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, filed an application for amparo before the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) to certify the results of last Sunday's elections.
