Ombudsman rejects US actions against Venezuela

The Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz, representing the Citizens' Power of the Republican Moral Council, rejected the actions of the United States Government against Venezuelans and President Nicolás Maduro.

“We reject all these systematic attacks against the entire Venezuelan people and against their Head of State, Nicolás Maduro. It's no longer new, it's part of a systematic attack as before, in the name of freedom and human rights, to try to destroy any possibility of agreement, all international law$, he emphasized.

The Ombudsman emphasized that these actions seek to hinder international agreements on human rights and international law, enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.

“Destroy all those United Nations agreements systematically, trying to block any possibility of international agreements for peace, for understanding. That's why we reject that attitude not only against the head of state but also against all of Latin America,” he added.

Ruiz concluded that these measures represent an attempt to impose force as a mechanism of pressure against Peoples who defend their self-determination and integrity. “We categorically reject this explicit attack against the Head of State, but also against the entire Venezuelan nation,” he emphasized.
