The governor of the state of Táchira, Freddy Bernal, said that the entity is absolutely at peace, despite the fact that unfortunately Norte de Santander in Colombia is literally at war.

“I want to reaffirm that Táchira is at peace, absolutely nothing happens here, we are calm, the ordinary people are on the street, producing, working; this is a productive state and here we wake up very early,” said Bernal.

During a telephone contact with the program Sin Truco Ni Maña, run by the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, together with the deputy Tania Díaz, Bernal explained that at the request of President Nicolás Maduro, he had a telephone contact with the governor of Norte de Santander, William Villamizar and with the mayor of Cúcuta, Jorge Acevedo, to send you all the solidarity on the part of the People of Venezuela and their Government.

“Indeed, they received it with great pleasure and thanked President Nicolás Maduro for his solidarity in the face of this wave of violence,” he added.

He also argued that in the North of Santander they have decreed a 48-hour curfew and the army's control measures on the street have increased. “A total of seven explosive devices were exploded, which have unfortunately caused loss of life and material damage,” he added.

In that sense, he emphasized that this is happening in Colombia, here in Venezuela we are in total peace. “President Maduro ordered a reinforcement of formal steps and irregular steps, and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and our security agencies are alert,” he said.

Bernal remains hopeful that the Government of Colombia will be able to solve this serious problem because “the peace of Colombia is the peace of Venezuela”.
