The collision of two helicopters in the air, in New Jersey, in the northeastern United States (USA), caused the death of one person and left another seriously injured this Sunday.

According to Hammonton City Police Chief Kevin Friel, rescue teams responded to a plane crash notice around 11:25am local time.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) detailed what was a mid-air collision between an Enstrom F-28A helicopter and an Enstrom 280C helicopter over Hammonton's municipal airport. Only the pilots were on board each aircraft, according to Prensa Latina.

The Police Chief indicated that the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) were notified and will be responsible for investigating the tragic incident.
