Ottaynis Febres wins silver at the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción

The Venezuelan Ottaynis Febres won the silver medal in the women's discus throw with 54.40 meters at the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción.

Febres broke his national under-20 record of 53.03 meters, surpassing 54 meters for the first time and was two centimeters behind Alejandra Mesa de Cuba, who won the gold record with 54.42 meters.

Febres gives Venezuela the sixth silver medal in the Junior Pan American Games and the first in athletics in the final week of the calendar.
