The Pakistan Air Force formalized a historic agreement to acquire fifth-generation Shenyang J-35 stealth fighters of Chinese origin. This operation is in addition to an expansion plan that includes the purchase of more Chengdu J-10C units and the modernization of the JF-17s. With this move, Islamabad dramatically strengthens its operational and technical capacity.

This acquisition gives Pakistan a key strategic advantage in introducing stealth technology to the subcontinent. As a pioneer in operating fifth-generation aircraft in the region, the country surpasses the current capabilities of India, which does not yet have aircraft of this type. This technological advance alters the air defense and surveillance protocols established in the area.

The agreement deepens the defense axis between Beijing and Islamabad, consolidating China as its main strategic partner. The transfer of these advanced systems demonstrates the trust and military integration achieved between the two nations.

This alliance allows Pakistan to access cutting-edge technology, reducing its dependence on other international suppliers and ensuring its technical autonomy.

The Chinese arms supply is directly reconfiguring the balance of power in South Asia. This new geopolitical scenario forces neighboring powers to reevaluate their defense strategies in the face of a modernized Pakistani air force. The arrival of the J-35s marks the beginning of a new era of technological and military competence in one of the most complex regions in the world.
