The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced the start of an international diplomatic campaign aimed at supporting the Egyptian plan adopted by the Arab League, which aims to rebuild the Gaza Strip over a period of five years, without displacing its inhabitants as suggested by the American proposal.
In an official statement, the Foreign Ministry urged its ambassadors around the world to intensify efforts to promote the initiative, approved during the recent extraordinary summit of the Arab League.
The purpose of the campaign is to present the results of the meeting in key institutions, such as foreign ministries, decision-making centers and public opinion in host countries, in order to mobilize political and financial support, according to a release from Prensa Latina.
The plan requires an investment of 53 billion dollars and includes multiple phases. First, immediate aid, shelter for the victims and the removal of debris will be provided, with an initial cost of 3 billion dollars over a period of six months. Subsequently, housing and infrastructure will be rebuilt in two stages.
