The “Papa” Carrillo gymnasium in Parque Miranda will be the home of the national basketball team to face Colombia, in the first window of the qualifiers for the 2027 Qatar World Cup.

The Venezuelan Basketball Federation (FVB) confirmed the board of Los Dos Caminos as a pre-World Cup venue through a press release released on its social networks.

In the document, the FVB announced that the match against the “coffee growers” will take place on Sunday, November 30, but previously both quintets will face each other on Thursday, 27, at the Evangelista Mora Coliseum in Cali. Creoles are part of group B along with Brazil, Colombia and Chile.

In the first round, Vinotinto de las Altura will face each of its rivals at home and away. In this phase, the 12 teams will be divided into two brackets from six countries each, and the top three in each group will advance to the second round.

Subsequently, each country will face the opponents they did not see in the first round, with the same format, to define the teams that will represent the American continent in the world championship.

The tickets will be distributed among the top three in each group, plus the best fourth place in the tournament.
