Pedro Gual Institute of Higher Studies demands the release of President Nicolás Maduro

The Pedro Gual Institute for Higher Diplomatic Studies denounced to the international community the military aggression carried out by the United States against Venezuelan territory in the early morning of January 3, 2026.

In the same way, through an official statement, the academic institution rejected this act of war and demanded the immediate release of the constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro Moros, as well as the first lady, Cilia Flores, who remain kidnapped after the attack.

The university community, comprised of teachers, researchers and students, described the action as a flagrant violation of the principles of the United Nations Charter. At the same time, they reaffirmed their "commitment to peace, to justice, to the defense of the Republic and to the inalienable character of the Venezuelan Nation as a free and independent homeland for 215 years of independence”.
