The first vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Pedro Infante, assured, during the meeting of the Miranda chapter of the Special Commission for Dialogue with Political Parties, that electoral laws will be amended before the end of 2024.
At the meeting, Infante detailed the objectives pursued by the commission to eradicate the political violence that re-emerged in Venezuela, with brutal terrorist actions to implode the country, after July 28, when the extreme right acted in ignorance of the institutions and the Magna Carta.
In this regard, Infante asserted that dialogue is essential to consolidate peace and political stability, as well as to resolve the problems of Venezuelans without foreign interference.
He explained that the convening of the special parliamentary body has been extensive; 38 national political parties were called, which participated in the last presidential elections on July 28, and so far 34 have answered the call.
Also, according to a press release from the Legislative Branch, he highlighted that there are 58 regional political parties that will be convened, in state chapters, to participate in dialogue tables, together with social movements, university, academic, cultural sectors, legislative councils and several mayors of the state of Miranda.
He said that the dialogue table carried out three major commissions, all related to legislative, technical and constitutional matters; which were dedicated to meeting with the various social sectors of the people, in the 24 states and 335 municipalities of the country, to review the laws.
He noted that they will continue to collect proposals, in 18 states of Venezuela, to continue systematizing contributions from political parties and social movements.
