More than 50 indigenous communities in the country marched to ratify their rebellion and anti-imperialist character in defense of their ancient history and national sovereignty.
“We are a combative people and we have only one march, we have 532 years marching towards the process of definitive decolonization,” said the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, in telephone contact, where he maintained that “those who celebrate this date today by calling it 'day of race' or 'of Hispanity', “are the heirs of slavery, imperialism, conquest, genocide”.
For his part, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, accompanied the original people with a tour through the streets of Caracas to commemorate the Day of Indigenous Resistance.

During the tour, Cabello pointed out that “we are proud of this ancient force capable of defeating the most powerful enemy of that time and today they are fighting to defend the Homeland with Nicolás (Maduro), with the legacy of Commander Chávez, of (Simon) Bolívar and with their own history,” he said.

Cabello pointed out that the Spanish empire came to the American continent to exterminate the native population and impose its ideology.
“Nobody was discovered here, some arrived here who were lost on a ship and assumed it as a discovery, but the truth is, that was the beginning of a genocide, of a blatant robbery to take all the resources,” he emphasized.

“All those political groups that today in Spain that support Zionism, Israeli expansionism, are the same ones that are saying that nothing happened here in America, that it is some saints who came here, that they are heroes, martyrs,” he rebuked, referring to the defense of the so-called conquest by the Spanish right and its lackeys of the region.
