This Monday, officials from the Anti-Drug Division of the Bolivarian National Police (CPNB) seized a total of 33 kilograms of marijuana and arrested a Colombian citizen in the state of Apure, as a result of an operation against illegal drug trafficking in the border area with Colombia.

Police action allowed the seizure of these substances distributed in 66 packages, transported under conditions that point to a cross-border trafficking operation.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace, the procedure was carried out in the Raúl Leoni I sector, El Amparo parish, José Antonio Páez municipality.

This operation is part of the “zero tolerance” policy against drug trafficking and organized crime, promoted by the Venezuelan State as part of its national security strategy.

According to official figures, up to August 2025, more than 60,000 kilos of illegal substances have been seized in different regions of the country, reflecting the scope of the actions taken and the institutional commitment to the protection of the territory and citizens.
