The national leader of the PODEMOS party, Héctor Sulbarán, said that the National Popular Consultation evidences the democratic nature of the country. “The Venezuelan people once again demonstrated their commitment to democracy and patriotism. It's inspiring to see how our communities came together to choose the projects that benefit them the most,” said Sulbarán.

Cited by a press release, he highlighted that during the day more than 4,500 community circuits actively participated in meetings where decisions were taken on a total of seven proposals, with the objective of improving living conditions in the communities.

Sulbarán highlighted that, at the national level, 24,000 projects were applied for, selected from the 103,000 initially proposed by the communal councils. “Most of these projects seek to solve problems in essential areas such as the drinking water system, roads, housing, electricity, health, education, wastewater, productive units, environment, public transport, spaces for sports and gas,” he stressed.

The leader of PODEMOS assured that the importance of this day lies in the implementation of an effective mechanism for citizen participation.
