This Sunday, Pope Francis again called for an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East.
“War is an illusion, a defeat; it will never bring peace or security. It is a defeat for everyone, especially for those who think they are invincible,” said the authority of the Catholic Church at the end of the Sunday Angelus prayer in St. Peter's Square, Vatican.
He assured that his intentions are for peace to reign in Libya, Palestine, Israel and Syria, while asking for respect this Sunday for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) due to the recent attacks by the Jewish State against the multinational component.
Israel's attack on the UN blue helmets in southern Lebanon left at least five peacekeepers injured, according to a press release from International Media.
